Let’s groove and music must go on.

Gianfranco GFN has been part of the GROOVY Acid-Jazz scene since the 1990s. However, the career of the Italo-Swiss, born in October 1966, dates back even further: a self-taught guitarist, composer, and producer, he gave his first concert at the age of 15, and his first vinyl dates back to 1984.

A regular on the underground scene, this jack-of-all-trades is adept in both jazz and rock and stands out particularly in smooth jazz, in Switzerland, Europe, and even beyond. Since his beginnings, Gianfranco GFN has given concerts and released CDs and several albums with other groups.

As a solo artist from 2011, he released an EP “Interludes” and four albums of personal compositions: “Linea” (2011), “Downtown in Person 70’s” (2015), “CA’GIAZZ” (2019), which marks his trademark, “MY GIAZZ”, a sound recognizable among all, blending Jazz, blues, and bossa nova, through funk, Soul, and pop.

Fond of straying off the beaten path, the eclectic artist has always shared his “Good Vibes” with other heavyweights of music.

Out of his 80 solo compositions to date, among over 200 titles in total, many are regularly played on the airwaves. He is widely broadcast on radios and streaming platforms, although his unique and timeless style goes against the grain of other musicians. The track “Distance” is currently shared on over 100 playlists across Europe (France, Italy, England, Germany, Spain) and around the world (USA, Brazil, and the Philippines). Additionally, the artist has already amassed over 300,000 views on YouTube.

The latest and fourth album is titled “Troubadour”. In this title, the artist defines himself as the troubadours of old, a composer, poet, musician who mingled with the crowd to invent or converse through music. Recorded at the Trilogy studio in Serrières (Neuchâtel, Switzerland), the album was released in the summer of 2022 under the label “96 Montigolfiera Production”. The artist gives prominence to other musical universes and is accompanied by Swiss musicians (from Biel, Bern, Neuchâtel, Lausanne, Geneva) and foreign artists (France, Italy, England). This “beautiful adventure” lasted two years and brought together more than 20 artists around 10 tracks, the videos of which can be found on YouTube.

The fifth album is in preparation. To mark this new adventure, the artist has launched his own record label “96 Montigolfiera Publishing”.
